During my military career I deployed multiple times to the Middle East in Iraq, Syria, and Kuwait. While these deployments were occurring, I endured 2 TBIs and severe PTSD as a result of combat operations injuries. On my last deployment in 2015, I was wounded and medically evacuated from theater. 2016, I was medically retired following 18 months of recovery at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. I’ve never been the person I was before those injuries since and never will be that person again. But the overwhelming anxiety, hypervigilance, anger, distrust for people, panic in crowds, migraines, vertigo, tinnitus, and seizures that all followed my military career made living life an unwinnable battle.
